BIMprove has participated at the World Building Congress 2022 that took place during 27th June – 30th June, 2022 in Melbourne, Australia.

Special Session Title: Building Digital Twins
Organizers: Dr. Gabor Sziebig and Dr. Klodian Gradeci, SINTEF As, Norway
Scope:
This category focuses on digital twins for the construction lifecycle phase of buildings. Building Digital Twins – a real-time digital representation of buildings – can facilitate monitoring of activities and comparison of relevant data against the initially agreed planning. The focus on the digital-twin concept in this category includes the uses of tools and technologies to collect and process real data and information from devices, components, parts, machines on an ongoing construction site and structures in use in order to optimise processes and increase safety in the construction site.

Contributions that address the following issues based on digital-twins’ applications on construction sites are welcomed:
– Automated progress monitoring;
– Tracking of daily changes in an as-build model, allowing early detection of discrepancies;
– Avoiding over-allocation of resources by dynamic prediction of requirements;
– Assurance of the safety of workers;
– Quality assessment by image processing technologies;
– Optimisation of equipment usage.
